SHORT TERM MISSIONS

February 2 - 16, 1997

CCMN Short Term Missions are an exciting way for Cell Church members to help reach unreached cities and People Groups for Christ. The purpose of each two week trip is:

• To help transitioning or newly planted Cell Churches in unreached areas expand more rapidly by means of concentrated evangelism.
• To facilitate greater networking between Cell Churches by working together for the Kingdom of God.
• To impart to individuals and churches a greater vision and passion for reaching the whole world for Christ.

NORTH INDIA

Only 0.16% of North India's 600 million people are Christian. In July, 1996 the HK Cell Church Network sent its first short term mission team to Delhi (12 million) and Calcutta (18 million). Over 100 people responded to the Gospel during the two weeks.

As a result of that trip Pastor Pradeep Moses of Delhi and Pastor Dev Sakar of Calcutta caught the Cell Church vision. After attending the HK Cell Church Conference in October together with some

coworkers they returned to India intent on starting the first ever Cell Churches in these vast unreached cities.

Two teams of up to 30 people each will be sent to both Delhi and Calcutta in February to work with Pastor Moses and Pastor Sakar. The teams will be involved in various forms of outreach among different classes of people, including slum dwellers. The aim will be to see several new Cell Groups begun during the visit.

COST: HK$7,000

INOCULATIONS: Hepatitis A & B, and anti-malarial prophylactic recommended.

PHILIPPINES

This is harvest time in the Philippines. 1200 people responded to the Gospel and 54 new Cell Groups were started for the 8 churches HK's Cell Church Network short term mission team worked with in July, 1996. Pastor Alex Eduave's Cell Church in the city of Cagayan De Oro, Southern Philippines, doubled in number, with a new daughter church started as well!

The team of up to 30 people who go in February will work with Pastor Alex's church primarily in evangelism and the starting of new Cell Groups. Training will also be provided for existing and new Cell Groups.

COST: HK$4,500

INOCULATIONS: None required.

BASIC SCHEDULE

Pre-Trip Training

All Hong Kong participants will attend two compulsory half day training sessions to be held Sunday Jan 19th & 26th, 2.30 pm - 6.30.

Commissioning Rally

On Sunday, Feb 2nd at 2.30 pm all participants, including those from outside Hong Kong, will attend a Commissioning Rally.

CCMN short term mission trips are part of the partnership between many different Cell Churches, rather than simply something interested individuals participate in. For this reason the members of each HK participant's Cell Group, together with church pastoral staff and other members, are encouraged to attend the Commissioning Rally.

Boot Camp, Travel Arrangements

All participants will attend a training camp immediately following the Commissioning Rally, departing for their various destinations on the Tuesday morning, Feb 2nd. All teams will return to HK on Sunday, Feb 16th.

International participants should plan to arrive in HK on Saturday, Feb 1st or Sunday morning, Feb 2nd. Please inform CCMN of your arrival date, time and flight number as soon as possible. You will be met at the airport and taken directly to the camp site. Please also inform CCMN if you require accommodation in HK from Feb 16th onwards.

Costs

The prices quoted above cover Boot Camp, return airfares ex-Hong Kong, departure tax, local travel, accommodation and meals.

For HK participants a deposit of HK$500 is required with each application; please pay the balance by January 19th, 1997. Cheques should be made out to "Cell Church Missions Network".

Non-HK participants will be informed upon application how to transfer payment to HK.
